Like most of Australia’s semi-arid regions, the summers are long and hot, while the winters are mild and dry. Whatever the season, temperatures can drop below 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit), so it is suggested to bring some warm clothing. Average annual rainfall is less than 300 millimetres, with occasional thunderstorms in Summer.

Throughout the Goldfields of Western Australia, the busiest time of the year is always August to November. High profile events such as the Kalgoorlie Boulder Race Round attract thousands of visitors, with a strong demand on accommodation and caravan parks.

For details of the region’s attractions, annual schedule of special events and available accommodation, request a copy of the latest Kalgoorlie Boulder Holiday Planner by phoning the Kalgoorlie Boulder Visitor Centre on 1800 004 653.
